Love coming here - I was new to extensions a few months ago and went in thinking what I wanted was impossible. Tiffany made me feel comfortable and confident that she could help. I’ve been a client of Tiffany’s at the Collective for over a year and have had the best experience. I cold called the salon with an extension hair emergency and Tiffany assured me that there was no challenge that she couldn’t take on. Since seeing her she has completely transformed my hair, gotten it to a way healthier place and has completely corrected the damage I’ve had from previous hair dressers 🥰. I’ve been seeing Caitlyn at The Collective for about six months now and I honestly can’t recommend her enough. I started with extensions then came back regularly for move ups and every appointment has been flawless. Most recently she took my extensions out before a trip to Hawaii and did a Brazilian blowout along with a fresh new color and my hair has never looked or felt better. I moved to Austin a few years ago and was nervous about finding a hairstylist I could trust. I kept hearing great things about this salon, booked an appointment, and ended up finding a place I’ve stayed loyal to for three years now.

My stylist (Caitlyn) is truly one of a kind. She is direct, transparent, and incredibly thoughtful. She listens closely, values my input, and offers honest guidance without ever pushing her own agenda. I always feel supported and informed.

Her expertise speaks for itself. Extensions are not easy to do well, and she consistently nails it. I have also on more than one occasion managed to mess up my hair 😂 and her patience through it all deserves a special mention. She is accommodating and genuinely invested in making sure her clients feel good and love their hair.

Beyond the talent, she is just a great human. Over time, she has become a real friend, and that says a lot about both her and the environment this salon creates. The salon itself is phenomenal, and I know so many people who go here and feel the same way.

Caitlin is honestly such a blessing! When I came to her my hair was in desperate need of recovery. I had been cycling through a few different stylists and wasn't finding the right balance. My hair is naturally very dark and yet I've been going very blonde for almost my entire adult life. This has led to major breakage and discoloration. I was also having to replace my extensions multiple times a year and having to re-do installs way more frequently than I would have liked. Since going to Caitlin, my hair has grown significantly - to the point where I don't want to scream when I look at myself in the mirror without my extensions! My color looks more natural and doesn't cause breakage or turn copper. My extensions are going strong at nearly 10 months and I'm able to extend my installs by an extra month! I've been coming to The Collective for years and it is the best around. Highly recommend. Not only is everyone there wonderful, but they are the best in extensions (and I've had plenty of experience).
I get extensions and color from Tiffany, cuts, and smoothing treatments (Laura, Caitlin), and most recently got the ice therapy treatment which repairs and smooths hair using subzero passes to lock in the nutrients and shine leaving your hair frizz-free. My daughter also goes for her cuts and loves it (to Caitlin).
My favorite thing besides the extensions though is the color. Tiffany does my favorite color I have ever had in a salon. She covers my gray perfectly and when I have gone a little darker it has never been too dark. Just perfect. Anyway I recommend!...more

Writing my first Google review here, for my absolute favorite salon and hair master stylist, Tiffany! I started going to Tiffany 3 1/2 years ago, when I lived in Austin. My hair is thin and fine; therefore, it's a challenge to work with, BUT... Tiffany knows how to work with this hair type better than any other stylist I've met. She raised my confidence level by a ten fold when she started doing 1 row of NBR, gentler color, and the perfect cut for me. I've left Austin twice, tried new stylists, and realized no one compares to her to I'd fly back from LA, and now drive down from Dallas (I tried the top 2 salons/stylists here and Tiffany is still the best). I moved to Austin in 2021 and was in need of a new stylist who is skilled in extensions and coloring / blonde. I saw Tiffany for a consultation, where I quickly knew, this is a very knowledgeable and experienced stylist. I instantly loved her energy and vibe and felt a level of comfort and trust right away. She convinced me to move away from beaded extensions and go with weft extensions. She indicated Weft installation would be less damaging on my hair, allow for more flexibly and styling as well. I'm thrilled to say after 1 year of having her care for my hair and this new method of extension installation, my natural hair has grown substantially and is MUCH healthier. I cannot recommend Tiffany or her team enough. She constantly goes above and beyond with training for her staff, keeping up with the latest and greatest. Best Hair Salon Ever! I am so lucky to have found The Collective ATX - they have now been doing my hair for 5 years. Tiffany is a queen when it comes to hair - highlights, coloring, cuts and extensions. I came to her for a color correction - my hair was orange and not in good shape. Tiffany worked magic and got it corrected to look not only beautiful and bring my icy blonde hair dreams to life but my hair was actually was healthier after it all too. QUEEN! Their new salon location on South Lamar is amazing, beautiful, spacious and bright. Where do I start... Tiffany is a miracle worker. I had my extensions done by a certified hand tied extensions professional in November. I LOVED the look but I had SO much pain and discomfort that I decided that I would rather take them out than go back to the same person who did them. Thankfully I found Tiffany ! She not only fixed the color (which is mind blowing) but her method of installation is absolutely flawless. 12/18/25 Update: It's 20+ years now and I'm still getting my hair done by Tiffany and other stylists at The Collective. After my color today, I told Tiffany I wanted to do something with my layers but I didn't know what. She went to work and the result was exactly what I wanted even though I didn't know what I wanted when I sat in her chair!

Caitlyn recently did an updo for an event in October for which I decided a week out that I wanted professionally styled hair! My hair looked amazing! Avery, Rachel and Laura have also given me fantastic blown-out styles after Tiffany has either cut, colored (or both) my hair.

Tiffany and her staff are knowledgeable, highly trained, personable, and caring. If you're looking for a drama-free salon, book an appointment at The Collective. P.S. Be sure to use the products they recommend -- excellent products really do make a difference to the health and overall maintenance of your hair!

Tiffany Vogelpohl is a master stylist and colorist, not to mention the magic she creates with extensions! I have been trusting my hair to Tiffany for 15 years, and in all those years I can honestly say I have always been thrilled with what she's done with my hair when I leave her chair!
