Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Bead Check.

We typically recommend bead checks every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on hair growth, activity level, and bead type. Frequent checks prevent slippage and protect natural hair. Your stylist will create a personalized schedule based on your extensions and lifestyle.

A proper bead check should be comfortable. We inspect beads and surrounding hair gently, tightening or replacing only when necessary. If you feel discomfort, tell your technician — we prioritize safe tension levels and minimizing stress on your natural hair.

Most bead checks take 15 to 30 minutes depending on the number of beads and any adjustments needed. If we need to replace multiple beads or address tangles it can take longer; your stylist will estimate time during booking.

Yes. Technicians can tighten or reposition beads during your check if safe to do so. For severely compromised beads we may recommend replacement. All adjustments are performed to protect your natural hair and maintain a seamless look.

Clean, dry hair is ideal for accurate bead inspection. If you can’t wash beforehand, arrive with dry, detangled hair and avoid heavy oils or products. Your stylist can still perform checks, but clean hair helps ensure a thorough service.

Book immediately if you notice loose beads, slipping wefts, increased tugging, sore spots on your scalp, or visible gaps between beads. Early attention prevents further slippage and reduces risk of breakage or damage to natural hair.
